Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Cardiac Care CNA for the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. The role supports critically ill cardiac patients in a fast-paced CCU environment.

Shifts are Nights, with 12‑hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am. Requires active CNA and BLS certifications; acute care experience preferred. Full benefits are offered through Prime Healthcare.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
• Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months’ experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for critically ill cardiac patients, including post–myocardial infarction and post–cardiac procedure patients, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient observations, reporting abnormal findings promptly to nursing staff.
• Support continuous cardiac monitoring by maintaining telemetry equipment and alerting RNs to rhythm changes or monitor alarms.
• Assist with patient repositioning, mobility, and hygiene while managing lines, tubes, and invasive equipment safely.
• Collaborate with RNs and the team during rapid responses and code situations, maintaining a calm and organized care environment.

Skilled in high-acuity patient care, continuous monitoring support, and rapid communication with the healthcare team to promote patient safety and positive outcomes in a fast-paced critical care environment.
