Job summary

Temple University Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for 7 West Cardiac Stepdown, Days Flex 7a-3:30p, 40 hours weekly with every-other weekend and holidays as required. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, implementing the plan of care to support physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, performing ECGs, capillary glucose checks, assisting with activities of daily living,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Nursing assistant or medical assistant program preferred.
• 1 year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care under guidance of the Registered Nurse.
• Implements components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
• Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose checks.
• Observes and reports the functioning of equipment, treatment results and changes in patient condition.
• Maintains confidentiality and meets customer service standards.
