Job summary

Temple Health in Philadelphia is hiring a Patient Care Assistant for the 7 West Cardiac Stepdown, FT 40 hours, Evening Flex 3p–11:30p. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, supporting daily living activities and safety.

The role requires a High School diploma; BLS; at least one clinical rotation or Nursing/Medical Assistant program preferred. On-site orientation and 90-day nursing certification program after hire if not certified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Nursing or Medical Assistant program or clinical rotation preferred.
• 1 year experience in patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.
• Implement components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
• Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose checks.
• Observes and reports the functioning of equipment and changes in patient condition.
