Job Description

Job Title: Cardiac Arrhythmia Tech
Location: Henry Ford Health System - 2333 Biddle Ave, Wyandotte, MI 48192
Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)
Shift: Midnight Shift

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously monitors and identifies normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment and alerts clinical staff to significant changes or arrhythmias
  • Responds promptly to alarm conditions and notifies appropriate personnel of emergency situations, ensuring timely clinical intervention
  • Maintains, troubleshoots, and performs routine equipment checks on all cardiac monitoring devices to ensure optimal functionality and signal quality
  • Documents and records cardiac rhythm findings, patient responses, and equipment status in patient records and monitoring logs with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ensures proper electrode placement, lead configuration, and signal quality for all monitored patients to maintain reliable cardiac data transmission
  • Communicates effectively with nursing staff and clinical team members regarding patient status changes, rhythm abnormalities, and equipment concerns
  • Participates in equipment maintenance, calibration procedures, and quality assurance activities as directed by supervisory personnel
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information and adheres to all HIPAA regulations and facility policies
Qualifications
Education/Experience Required
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Successful completion, during the introductory period, of an arrhythmia course, to include written and verbal testing which will include knowledge and skill validation.
  • Demonstrates competency in operating telemetry monitoring equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Previous health care experience such as EKG Technician, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Nursing Assistant, and/or education in cardiac monitoring preferred.
  • Must be able to multitask proficiently and operate equipment in stressful or emergent situations.
