Job summary

VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System in Colorado is seeking a Physician - Anesthesiologist (Cardiac) to provide complex cardiac anesthesia and supervise trainees as needed. The role blends general and specialized cardiac anesthesia, with opportunities for teaching within the Department of Anesthesiology and University of Colorado affiliations.

Applicants must hold an MD/DO, be US-licensed, and meet VA qualification standards; board certification preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an approved school
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine/surgery in the US or DC
• Board eligibility or certification for core specialty in VA context

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for cardiac cases and supervise trainees or CRNAs
• Review patient history and examinations, plan anesthesia, and monitor intraoperative course
• Prescribe anesthesia plan and manage induction, emergence, and post-anesthesia care
• Contribute to teaching and scholarly activity within VA and university affiliations
