Job summary

VCU Health in Richmond, VA invites a board‑certified pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist to lead the Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology team. The role spans clinical care, education of fellows, residents, and medical students, and program leadership.

The successful candidate will supervise anesthesia for complex congenital heart disease patients across the OR, cath lab, EP lab, and imaging suites, collaborating with the Cardiothoracic Surgery and Cardiology divisions.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• ABA board eligible or certified in anesthesiology.
• Eligible for Virginia medical licensure.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Strong communication, clinical and teaching skills.
• Formal training in Pediatric Cardiac anesthesiology or substantial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology operations.
• Coordinate anesthesia care for congenital heart disease patients across OR, cath/EP labs, and non‑invasive labs.
• Engage in Quality and Safety Initiatives, education, and interdepartmental activities.
