Job summary

Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join our inpatient care team. The APP conducts rounds, performs assessments, coordinates and evaluates the plan of care, and assists with procedures under physician supervision.

The role administers medications and supports discharge planning within South Dakota scope of practice. Candidates must be licensed as a PA or CNP, graduate from an ARC-PA accredited program (PA) or an accredited CNP program, and

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in South Dakota.
• Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited PA program or accredited CNP program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification; CCRN preferred.
• Hospital inpatient, cardiology, ICU or critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds on assigned patients and evaluate progress.
• Coordinate and assess the plan of care with the medical team.
• Administer medications/treatments as directed by physicians.
• Assist with procedures per protocol and supervision.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Support discharge planning and transition of care for patients.
