Job summary

The University of Washington Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery invites applications for a full-time Cardiac Acute Care Service Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at UW Medical Center Montlake Campus. The appointment is teaching associate with a Winter 2027 start.

The position offers a 12-month service period with 11 months paid, and a salary range of $10,834 to $15,391 per month depending on experience.

Qualifications

• WA state ARNP licensure or PA-C licensure required.
• Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• National certification for ARNP/PA and DEA eligibility.
• Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team.
• ACLS Certification.
• English communication skills required.
• Critical care or cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred; new graduates with relevant training may be considered with onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on a cardiothoracic inter-professional team with surgeons and APPs.
• Perform minor bedside procedures and wound management.
• Provide full spectrum of care for cardiac acute care surgical patients.
• Educate nursing staff and surgical residents.
• Participate in quality and process improvement projects.
• Perform other related duties as required.
