The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time Cardiac Acute Care Service Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position to provide patient care at the University of Washington Medical Center Montlake Campus.

Qualifications

• Current WA State RN licensure for ARNP or PA-C.
• Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• National certification for ARNP/PA with DEA eligibility.
• Excellent interdisciplinary teamwork and communication skills.
• ACLS certification required.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer literacy and general IT skills.
• Prior critical care or cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred; strong onboarding considered for new grads.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of APPs, surgeons, and support staff.
• Perform minor bedside procedures and wound management as needed.
• Provide full-spectrum care for cardiac acute care surgical patients.
• Educate nursing staff and surgical residents.
• Contribute to quality and process improvement projects within the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Perform other related duties as required.
