Job summary

Shoptalk is seeking a hands-on, data-driven Director to lead Card Credit R&D and Growth Initiatives. You will drive strategic initiatives, develop business cases, and partner across functions to scale and deliver strong returns from our Card product.

This hybrid role is based in Wilmington or San Francisco, with the opportunity to influence growth across customer segments and credit risk policies while maintaining responsible risk management and measurable results.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in consumer finance, consulting, or data-driven roles.
• Deep experience in consumer lending and credit cards.
• Data-driven, independent problem solver.
• Strong communication and business intuition.
• Comfort solving white-space problems amid ambiguity.
• Proficiency in SQL and Excel; Python a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide credit risk leadership and policy design for initiatives.
• Identify and pursue new growth opportunities.
• Develop a forward-looking agenda to drive growth.
• Build business cases and run tests to unlock card growth.
• Combine test results with data to deliver responsible growth.
• Develop risk defenses for misuse / U/W.
• Partner cross-functionally to implement and scale.
• Track performance and report outcomes to leadership.
