Qualifications

• Experience welding carbon steel materials using multiple welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Proficiency in selecting electrodes/fillers and welding in all positions.

Responsibilities

• Apply manual welding processes for carbon steel applications (oxy-acetylene, arc).
• Weld carbon steel components of various sizes and thicknesses.
• Control heat input to prevent warping or burn-through.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, specs and work orders to plan welding tasks.
• Select appropriate welding electrodes or filler rods based on steel type and thickness.
• Perform welds in confined or hard-to-reach areas requiring precision.
• Ensure welds meet dimensions, tolerance and strength.
• Inspect completed welds for defects and compliance with specs.
• Collaborate with supervisors to resolve welding challenges and safety standards.
