Job summary

Dow Jones Energy is seeking a reporter to collect and analyze carbon credit trade data, assessing daily pricing indexes for voluntary and U.S. compliance markets.

You will report to the Director - Price Reporter and contribute to breaking and feature coverage on carbon prices, market fundamentals, and climate programs. The role requires 3+ years in journalism or market analysis, experience in carbon markets, and strong data interpretation skills using Excel.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years journalism or market analysis experience in environmental, commodities, or financial sectors.
• Price reporting experience covering carbon markets (cap-and-trade/cap-and-invest/voluntary).
• Experience breaking down complex regulatory and market issues into clear content.
• Developed sources and engaged with market contacts and stakeholders.
• Able to analyze data and market drivers quickly using spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze spot market price transactions.
• Verify transactions and apply pricing methodology for daily assessments.
• Produce breaking and feature news on carbon markets and related legislation.
• Research new developments in carbon policies and programs.
• Contribute to social media, blogs, and publish reports.
• Network to develop sources in the carbon industry.
