Job description

Position Summary

Car Wash Lead will report directly to the Store Manager and be responsible for ensuring the daily car wash operation runs efficiently while maintaining high standards for the overall appearance and cleanliness of the car wash property. They will also build strong guest relations and ensure the highest quality car wash experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations and communicate effectively with the Store Manager.
• Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the car wash by cleaning the facility, equipment room, exterior grounds, and vacuum area, ensuring everything is kept in its appropriate place and organized.
• Ensure all equipment (payment stations, wash equipment, power washer, vacuums) is kept operational; resolve issues or submit a Service Channel ticket when necessary.
• Greet all guests in a friendly manner, make them feel welcomed and appreciated, and provide assistance when needed in any area concerning the car wash process or at the vacuums.
• Handle customer complaints, employee conflicts, and daily operational problems in an even‑tempered, fair, and consistent manner.
• Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Know how to use specific equipment to work efficiently in an automated facility.
• Assist in the training of any Team Member assisting with the Car Wash or new Car Wash Specialists.
• Assist the Store Manager in‑store with any duties needed when the Car Wash is closed or during slow business times due to poor weather.

Store Manager, Car Wash Program Manager, District Manager, Store team members, Company personnel, and various vendors.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: N/A
• Preferred Education: High School or GED
• Minimum Experience: 3 months as a Guest Service Associate with Cumberland Farms or previous car wash experience.
• Preferred Experience: 6–12 months in car wash, retail, guest service, or restaurant.
• Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Hours & Conditions

Full‑time position with a variety of hours, day and night. The Cumberland Farms Car Wash and retail locations can be open 24 hours, so weekend and holiday hours are required.

Travel up to 5% to cover other locations as needed.

Hours: Full time (30–40 hours).

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand/walk 8 hours a day; lift 40 lbs, reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp, and grip; work in cooler, cold temperatures.

Base salary range for this position is shared for pay transparency. Final pay within this range will be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
