The Haupt Racing Team is seeking a full-time Car Chief for DTM and GT Masters. This role requires excellent technical understanding and motorsport skills, along with strong leadership and communication abilities in both German and English.

The Car Chief will lead the crew at the racetrack and in the workshop, ensuring high standards in build quality and team morale. Experience in DTM or comparable series is essential, along with a hands-on mentality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a car chief in DTM or comparable racing series.
• Several years of experience as a 2nd mechanic in DTM, WEC, GTWC or comparable for Car Chief DTM.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a 2nd mechanic in the GT3 category for Car Chief GT Masters.

Responsibilities

The Haupt Racing Team is looking for full‑time car chiefs DTM and GT Masters (M/F/D)

Who we are:

The Haupt Racing Team (HRT) was founded in 2020 by racing driver and entrepreneur Hubert Haupt, and has firmly established itself in international GT3 sports. Its greatest successes to date include the 2021 DTM Drivers' Championship, the 2023 GT World Challenge Europe Drivers' and Teams' Titles (Sprint and Silver Cup), and the Drivers' Title (2025) and three consecutive Teams' Titles (2023, 2024, 2025) in the ADAC GT Masters, as well as class wins and podium finishes in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring and Spa‑Francorchamps. Since the 2025 season, HRT has been running the Ford Mustang GT3 with factory support from Ford in several high‑profile racing series and championships. HRT is also actively involved in the promotion of young talent, covering the entire pyramid of driver development, from entry into motorsport in the HRT Kart Team to the highest level of GT racing in the DTM. The joint operations centre is the state‑of‑the‑art HRT RACE BASE in Drees, at the Nürburgring, where technical development projects and motorsport events of all kinds are also carried out.

Role Description:

The Car Chief leads and coordinates his crew both at the racetrack and in the workshop.

The Car Chief will be the main contact regarding the build‑up of the cars and show great communication skills towards workshop manager, colleague mechanics, engineers and supporting departments.

The Car Chief is motivated to achieve agreed goals and objectives and promote high‑standards, quality of service and team spirit in the workforce.

Duties:

• Ensure the specified build‑up and build quality of the race cars
• Respect HRT internal technical notes as well technical bulletins from manufacturers or suppliers
• Rule book understanding of areas that pertain technical specifications and relevant operations e.g. pit stop, refuelling, etc.
• Always maintain a professional and clean appearance of the race cars and equipment
• Ensure the work area is clean and organized following the company structure
• Act as role model to less experienced team members, to ensure quality control and attention to detail while promoting positive learning environment and an exceptional can‑do attitude
• Professionally representing the team. Sharing a positive attitude and respect inside the team

• Car Chief GT Masters: Minimum 2 years of experience as a 2nd mechanic in the GT3 category.
