ACI Motorsport in the United States is seeking a Systems / Data Engineer to optimize race car performance by analyzing data, maintaining vehicle electronics, developing tools, and supporting race strategy.
You will configure telemetry, collect and analyze data, diagnose wiring and sensor systems, develop analysis tools, and support live strategy with data-driven insights across GT3 and GT4 programs.
ACI Motorsport is a multi-championship-winning operation, reigning 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup North America (PCCNA) Pro-Am Champions and runner-up in SRO GT4 America Pro-Am. We currently campaign fourteen cars across three championships — six in PCCNA, four in Porsche Sprint Challenge, and four in SRO GT4 America (two Porsche, two BMW). With expansion planned for the 2027 season into SRO GT3, IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, Porsche Carrera Cup, and SRO GT4, we are seeking talented individuals to join our growing operation at the highest levels of North American motorsport.
The Systems / Data Engineer position plays a critical role in optimizing race car performance by analyzing data, maintaining vehicle electronics, developing tools, and supporting race strategy.
Configure, calibrate, and maintain telemetry and logging systems across the GT3 and GT4 fleet. Manage live telemetry links at circuits, including antenna placement, base station setup, and channel configuration to ensure uninterrupted data flow to the pit wall throughout every session.
Use specialized data software to gather, analyze, and interpret time series data from multiple sources, identifying opportunities for performance improvement. Present findings to the race team and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancements.
Diagnose, repair, and modify vehicle wiring harnesses, including sensor installation, connector repair, loom fabrication, and fault-finding on complex GT3 electrical systems. The ability to resolve electrical issues in-house — at the workshop and trackside — is a significant strength for this role.
Install, calibrate, and validate sensors across the vehicle, including damper pots, ride height, brake and tire temperature, pressure, and strain gauge systems. Maintain sensor calibration records and verify data integrity before each session.
Develop and employ tools to simulate and analyze potential performance gains, leveraging simulation software to validate and confirm outcomes.
Collaborate with the Race Engineer on pre- and post-event analyses, focusing on deriving insights from data and assessing competitor information. Contribute to live race strategy by making real-time decisions using tools such as HH Timing, integrating tire degradation data, lap times, fuel consumption, and other crucial performance metrics.
Set up and maintain radio communication systems, ensuring clear and effective communication between team members during races and test events. Manage the installation and configuration of Wi-Fi networks at race venues, facilitating reliable data transfer and connectivity for the team.
