Job summary

The DC Department of Human Resources invites applications for an Insurance Program Administrator and Captive Manager. The role oversees the Captive Insurance Agency, its budget, claims handling, and risk management initiatives for the District's $11 billion budget and about 35,000 employees.

You will set policies, guide audits, and report to the Mayor and ORM. Candidates should have advanced degree in legal, finance, insurance or risk management and substantial supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience directly related to insurance programs, risk management or government risk oversight.
• Advanced degree in legal, finance, insurance, public or business administration or risk management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers and directs insurance programs, including managing the Captive and its budget.
• Oversees claims processing, settlements and tail coverage for participating health centers.
• Guides audits, policy development, risk management standards and strategic planning.

Education

Master's or J.D. in legal, finance, insurance, pubic or business administration or risk management
