Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3+ years as sea trial captain
  • STCW certification required
  • Valid captain’s license (OICNW) required
  • TWIC card preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate and navigate the vessel safely and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with maritime laws and regulations
  • Supervise and manage ship crew during sea trials
  • Conduct regular safety checks and drills
  • Coordinate loading and unloading of cargo
  • Develop voyage plans and conduct risk assessments
  • Communicate with port authorities and other vessels
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of the vessel
  • Handle emergencies and coordinate search and rescue operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
