Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks experienced Captains to lead our U.S. flag fleet across inland and coastal waterways, including the East Coast, Alaska, Pacific Northwest, Great Lakes, and major rivers.

Captains are master mariners responsible for safe vessel operations and representing the company as leaders for guests and crews. We provide onboard accommodations, chef-prepared meals, and rigorous simulator-based training focused on decision-making and piloting skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead teams on board.
• Captain experience on coastal and river waterways; familiarity with Z-drive operations preferred.
• USCG Master license with Near Coastal endorsement; 100 GRT minimum; 1,600 GRT+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Operate the vessel in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Lead and develop deck officers and oversee Shipboard Engineer.
• Coordinate major engineering repairs with port engineers and ship services.
