Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a PRN Captain Food & Nutrition staffer for the Juve Behavioral Health Pavillon in Akron. The role involves performing various hospital food service duties, assembling and delivering patient trays, serving cafeteria customers and maintaining a clean work environment.

You will interact with patients, visitors and hospital staff, complying with HACCP and safety guidelines while delivering courteous, professional service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal food handling regulations (HACCP).
• Ability to assemble and pass trays.
• Friendly, helpful communication with visitors, patients and staff.
• Ability to be on feet most of the day and lift/move light to medium objects.

Responsibilities

Summary

Performs various hospital food services duties (e.g., assembles, delivers, and retrieves patient trays, washes dishes, pots, carts, and service-ware support; sets up, and serves customers in cafeteria). Provides the highest quality of service and respect to others at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• Formal Education Required:
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
• Must possess knowledge of and be in compliance with local, state, and federal food handling regulations (i.e., HACCP)
• Ability to assemble and pass trays
• Demonstrates a helpful and pleasant behavior when communicating with visitors, hospital personnel, physicians and co-workers
• Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
• Level of Physical Demands:
• Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.
• Ability to be active and on feet most of the day, lift, push, and pull light to medium weight objects; occasionally push and pull heavy weight objects

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
