Job summary

Louisiana Capitol Security seeks a Capitol Security Officer in Baton Rouge to safeguard the Capitol Complex. You will enforce laws, perform routine patrols, respond to incidents, and coordinate with supervisors to maintain security at the state capitol.

Requirements include 21+ years old, a Louisiana driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a current POST certification with at least one year of full-time POST experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years old at time of application.
• Valid Louisiana Driver's License at appointment.
• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Completed P.O.S.T. course.
• Current P.O.S.T. certification and 1+ year full-time P.O.S.T. officer experience.
• Must pass physical exam and fitness test per Cooper's Standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of the Capitol Complex by enforcing laws and rules.
• Perform crime prevention, incident response, patrols and monitoring.
• Report all incidents, accidents, occurrences or threats.
• Carry out duties as directed by the Special Ops Supervisor or Capitol leadership.
