Job summary

LAUKOA seeks a Stationary Engineer to operate, inspect, and maintain steam, chilled water, HVAC, and related utility systems at the Capitol Power Plant in Washington, DC. This full-time day-shift role includes on-call availability for emergencies and requires a valid license, NASOE certification, and HVAC training.

The position emphasizes BAS/DDC proficiency, vigilance in safety, and interaction with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

Current, valid Stationary Engineer license (DC Class 3 or MD First Grade).
NASOE certification as identified in the solicitation.
Vocational/technical training in HVAC maintenance and service work.
Experience with BAS and DDC systems.
Licenses must be valid at contract award.
Tunnel-entry certificates: asbestos awareness, permit-required confined space, heat stress prevention (annual refreshers).
Must be able to read mechanical drawings and operate control systems.

Responsibilities

Operate and inspect heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration, steam, and related systems.
Read gauges, meters, and charts; adjust controls for safe operation.
Maintain machinery and equipment in good working order.
Operate and maintain BAS and DDC controls.
Enter operating and maintenance reports into the CMMS (TMA).
Coordinate related work with maintenance personnel.
Support emergency response activities as part of the EOP.
