Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking a Stationary Engineer to operate and maintain steam, chilled water, HVAC and related utility systems at the Capitol Power Plant in Washington DC. This is a full-time day shift position (6:00 am–2:30 pm) with essential designation and on-call requirements for emergencies.

Responsibilities include operating BAS and DDC controls, reading gauges, documenting conditions, coordinating with maintenance staff, and following the Emergency Operating Plan.

Qualifications

• Current valid Stationary Engineer license equivalent to DC Class 3 or MD First Grade.
• 3+ years licensed experience in a building of similar complexity.
• NASOE certification as identified in the solicitation.
• HVAC mechanic vocational/technical training completed.
• Experience with BAS and DDC controls.
• Licenses and certifications valid at contract award.
• Tunnel entry, asbestos awareness, confined space and heat-stress training.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, steam, and related systems.
• Read gauges, meters and charts; adjust controls for safe operation.
• Record operating conditions and maintain machinery in good order.
• Operate and maintain BAS and DDC controls.
• Identify failures, establish routine testing, support maintenance.
• Read drawings and coordinate with other maintenance staff.
• Enter reports and photos into the CMMS (TMA).
• Follow Emergency Operating Plan and assist in emergencies.
