Job summary

The Department of Enterprise Services (DES), Washington, is seeking a Caretaker to clean and maintain the Capitol Campus and assigned areas on a 8AM–5PM, Monday–Friday, on-site schedule. Duties include restroom cleaning, trash removal, glass washing, and stocking supplies, with outdoor duties in winter and during deliveries.

You will also support events by setup and cleanup, record daily work in FMMS, and complete OS1 training on cleaning processes and chemicals.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Driver's License.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Six months custodial/maintenance experience.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs or more and work on varied surfaces.
• Able to work in a crowded, high-pressure environment with protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping on Capitol Campus and assigned areas.
• Respond to spills and urgent cleaning needs.
• Clean and stock restrooms, remove trash, clean glass, stock custodial pantries.
• Unlock buildings and store supplies on delivery days.
• Maintain outdoor areas: clean ashtrays, entryways, apply deicer, snow shoveling in winter.
• Set up tables, chairs, and containers for events; manage trash/recycling.
• Record time and work daily in FMMS and complete required training.
