Rockline is seeking a Capital Sourcing Manager to lead sourcing initiatives for capital equipment and services across our North American operations. In this role, you'll partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and plant leadership to secure best-value solutions, drive supplier performance, and support strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Capital Procurement
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capital equipment, automation systems, packaging equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), including acquisition, installation, maintenance, and lifecycle costs.
- Support long-range capital planning through market analysis, benchmarking, and supplier intelligence.
- Transition capital sourcing activities from a tactical to a strategic procurement model by implementing sourcing best practices.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify global suppliers that deliver value, innovation, and competitive advantage.
- Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, specifications, payment terms, acceptance criteria, and risk mitigation.
- Drive supplier performance improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Manage RFQs/RFPs, cost models, pricing analyses, and sourcing recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to support capital projects and business objectives.
- Provide guidance on sourcing decisions, commercial terms, and supplier strategies.
- Support sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives where applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 4+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, engineering, operations, or related experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 6+ years of strategic sourcing and supplier management experience, preferably in capital procurement and manufacturing environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, CPSM, CPIM, C.P.M., or similar professional certification.
- Experience sourcing capital equipment, automation systems, converting equipment, or packaging machinery.
- Knowledge of ROI, NPV, cash flow analysis, and total cost of ownership.
- Experience managing global suppliers and contractor sourcing.
- Ability to read blueprints/CAD drawings and understand engineering terminology and technical processes.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, cost modeling, and market analysis skills.
- Knowledge of contract law and the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
- Proven change management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
