Job summary

The Office of the County Engineer is seeking a Project Manager to administer multiple vertical capital projects within Harris County's capital program. You will oversee design, construction, and close-out while ensuring compliance with sealed plans, county specs, and applicable codes.

This role supports disaster recovery and continuity of operations (COOP) and works with diverse partners to mitigate risks. You will lead scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communications,

Qualifications

• Ability to lead negotiations with consultants, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
• Familiar with building codes, permitting processes, and regulations for vertical construction.
• Proficiency in reviewing construction drawings and technical documents; CAD familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver capital projects from pre-planning through close-out
• Develop and manage scopes, schedules, resources, and cost estimates
• Lead consultant procurement, contracts, budgets, and performance management
• Coordinate internal and external teams to produce engineering deliverables
• Ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and client expectations
• Implement risk management and project controls using PM systems
