Job summary

Duke University is seeking an Assistant Manager, Capital Projects to lead planning, design, and execution of capital initiatives on campus. You will work with clients, consultants and Facilities Management to deliver sustainable, compliant facilities that support education, research, healthcare, and campus operations.

You will manage budgets and schedules, monitor progress, and ensure safety and quality across projects from inception to closeout, reporting to higher-level project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Knowledge of design processes, construction methodologies, project management principles, and building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts and related documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and construction of capital projects from concept through completion.
• Coordinate with clients and stakeholders to identify requirements, priorities, funding, locations and schedules.
• Manage consultants and contractors, develop scopes of work, budgets and schedules.
• Oversee design and construction activities to meet objectives, quality standards and compliance.
• Assist in budgeting, scheduling, documentation and closeout activities.
