Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering design principles and project management practices.
• Experience with budget estimating and contract administration for CIP projects.
• Ability to coordinate with consultants, contractors and public stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and prioritizing capital projects.
• Lead or participate in pre-construction meetings with consultants and contractors.
• Prepare bid documents and advertise projects; facilitate pre-bid meetings and bid openings.
• Assist with presentation of project contracts to Town Council for approval.
• Review plans, specifications, and estimates for proposed public infrastructure improvements.
• Perform technical reviews of construction work to ensure compliance with standards.
• Review site plans and construction drawings for proper location of utilities and rights-of-way.
• Interpret construction plans for the public and explain project impacts on property.
• Review technical reports for public infrastructure improvements.
• Coordinate mitigation of construction problems with contractors and citizens.
• Inspect construction work for adherence to approved plans.
• Estimate time, equipment, and materials costs for projects.
• Maintain work records, reports, files, and field findings.
