Job summary

Suzano is seeking a Project Engineer to support its Pine Bluff, AR paper mill by leading capital projects that improve safety, reliability, productivity, and sustainability. You will work with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Environmental, and Engineering teams, managing scope, schedule, budget, and performance.

The ideal candidate has a related engineering degree and hands-on project management experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil engineering or related field.
Project engineering or capital project experience in manufacturing preferred.
Experience managing engineering projects from concept through commissioning and startup.

Responsibilities

Lead the planning, design, execution, and startup of capital and expense projects across the mill.
Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
Coordinate engineering activities with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers.
Manage project timelines and costs while identifying and mitigating risks to project success.
Oversee construction activities, ensuring safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Support equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and performance validation activities.
Evaluate opportunities for process, equipment, and infrastructure improvements to increase efficiency.
Prepare and present project updates, business cases, and status reports to leadership teams.
