Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical Group seeks a Project Engineer to plan, execute, and finalize capital projects within our site. You will lead from inception to completion, coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and operations to meet scope, schedule, and budget.

The role requires 5+ years in project management or chemical plant engineering, with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in MS Project or Primavera. OSHA/EPA familiarity and a PMP bonus are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of project management or engineering experience in a chemical plant or similar environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with project management tools MS Project or Primavera.
• PMP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage capital projects from concept to completion within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develop detailed project plans with timelines, budgets, resource allocation and risk management.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams: engineering, procurement, construction and operations.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates and technical evaluations for proposals.
• Prepare and present project proposals, progress reports and final documentation to stakeholders.
• Ensure safety, health, environmental, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify and mitigate risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Manage contractors and vendors to ensure quality and adherence to specs.
• Foster continuous improvement by applying best practices and lessons learned.
