Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing small to medium capital projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring quality work and adherence to project specifications.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, engineering, and a deep understanding of the chemical plant environment.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Lead and manage capital projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, construction, and operations to ensure project objectives are met.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Must collaborate across all functions and levels of the organization to deliver objectives.
  • Must maintain and routinely engage with an excellent network of contacts in MCG's manufacturing and technical communities.
  • Must work very closely with the plant operating teams and be extremely comfortable in a plant environment on an initiative‑taking basis.
  • Must maintain an elevated level of sensitivity to plant operations – not waiting for calls – while achieving longer term improvement objectives.
KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or engineering within a chemical plant or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing small to medium capital projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant engineering guidelines and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $118,800- $125,400 Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job‑related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
