Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • 8-15 years of experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Experience managing multiple capital/maintenance projects up to $10MM.
  • Experience managing engineering and construction companies in scope, schedule, and construction phases.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, civil, and electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work safely according to EHS policies and site procedures.
  • Develop and sanction capital projects with cost estimates and documentation.
  • Lead projects from concept through closure using project excellence guidelines.
  • Deliver projects on budget, on schedule, and with acceptable quality for stakeholders.

  • Contribute to procedures, documents, and tools for project management excellence.

JOB PURPOSE:

Support the planning and development of capital engineering projects. Manage and execute projects to meet the organizational objectives, ensuring all projects meet technical specifications and deadlines.

DIMENSIONS:

Provide effective project execution and cost control of assigned projects. Manage a number of assigned projects simultaneously and commensurate with the level of this position. Contribute to the long\-term capital plan for the site.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Perform all work in a safe manner in accordance with site and corporate EHS policies. Support the development of capital projects and the necessary sanction documents (including cost estimates) and aid in ushering capital projects from concept through closure. Develop and manage projects using the New Project Excellence guidelines and local procedures. Ensure projects meet the agreed objectives and are delivered within budget, on schedule, and of acceptable quality to the stakeholders and customers. Make an effective hand‑off of projects to operations and maintenance considering training, process safety, and equipment reliability. Contributes to the development and management of procedures, documents, and tools needed to perform duties as a Project Engineer. Assist in the training and coaching of other site personnel in the key components and activities of project management excellence.

KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering. 8-15 years of experience in a manufacturing plant. Experience managing multiple capital/maintenance projects with a total value of up to $10MM. Experience managing Engineering and Construction companies in project scope, schedule, and construction phases of project development and execution. Experience evaluating competing engineering proposals in terms of technology, cost, and schedule. General knowledge of mechanical, civil, and electrical codes and standards.

The salary for this position is $151,000.00. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
