Job summary

University of California, Berkeley is seeking a Director of Capital Projects to lead the design and construction of major facilities, renovations, and infrastructure across the campus. You will manage a diverse team of architects, engineers, and project managers, coordinate with EH&S, Campus Services, and external partners, and ensure timetables and budgets are met.

The role requires advanced financial tracking, strategic planning, and strong leadership to advance the campus Capital Improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area (Required).
• Master's degree in related area (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides management and coordination of the entire construction process.
• Ensures adherence to schedules, terms, and conditions.
• Manages professional staff and operational budgets.
• Conducts regular project reviews with senior staff and analyzes financials.
• Represents department in campus processes and develops procedures with service providers.
• Directs design and construction professionals, negotiates fees, ensures compliance, and guides project development.
