Job summary

City of Atlanta’s Department of Enterprise Assets Management seeks a Construction Project Manager II to lead capital infrastructure projects, directing planning, design, construction, and closeout. The role requires coordinating with internal teams, managing budgets, and ensuring schedules are met with quality results.

The position follows a hybrid work policy with in-person work at City facilities at least four days per week and one remote day, and requires strong supervision of project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Administration.
• 5–8 years of related experience, including some supervision.
• Master’s degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• CCM, PMP, or OSHA 30 Certification are preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design, plans, and scheduling of capital infrastructure projects; assist in developing scopes of work and review cost estimates.
• Collaborate with the Capital Improvement Project Team and other City departments.
• Set project goals based on client expectations and write a comprehensive project management plan.
• Manage resources, monitor schedule and expenditures to meet budget and deadlines.
• Establish and maintain a partnering approach to reduce conflicts and claims.
• Ensure quality through a project quality management plan and controls.
• Attend status meetings and prepare bi-monthly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
• Represent the City as the owner's representative on DEAM project construction.
• Assess alternative approaches during planning to identify best solutions.
• Mitigate risks by enforcing safety and contract requirements.
