Capital Projects Category Lead – Renewables & Contracts

Job summary

Entergy in the United States is seeking a Category Lead to partner with strategic leaders across Power Development, Capital Projects, and Power Generation. You will lead commercial efforts, develop strategies, source contracts, and manage supplier performance through formal governance processes.

Focus will be on renewable and generation programs, driving end-to-end value, contract optimization, and risk management while coordinating with cross-functional teams to align with Entergy’s portfolio

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure SC engagement
• Actively engage and collaborate with external and internal initiatives across the supported organizations and Supply Chain
• Actively promote strong safety behaviors and ensure the team always puts safety first
• Utilize key tools, programs, and proactive field visits to assure standards are met and understood
• Perform storm role duties as assigned through the Storm Assignment Management System (SAMS)
• Collaborate with the business units and other stakeholders to support the deployment of capital funds in line with Entergy’s strategies
• Develop commercial strategies and contract plans aligned to project needs; maximize leverage through aggregation opportunities across similar scopes of work; maximize value through optimization of price, contract terms, performance standards, and service levels
• Ensure alignment of project behaviors to contract requirements
• Manage compliance to contract provisions and administer contract change orders in collaboration with the project manager and the change order process
• Execute contract governance and provide oversight of supplier performance management, including claims management and dispute management/resolution
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers based on the highest ethical business practices
• Develop and manage advanced market intelligence tools to proactively monitor commodity trends, supply base evolution, and industry benchmarks.
• Build and maintain detailed supplier profiles and segmentation models to inform category strategies and sourcing decisions.
• Create should-cost models and perform cost-driver analysis to strengthen negotiation positioning and support accurate financial evaluation.
• Generate high-quality reporting and dashboards that provide insights into supplier performance, category health, risks, opportunities, and value capture.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to communicate insights and influence strategic decision-making across New Gen capital project portfolios.
