Responsibilities

  • Develop project charters, feasibility studies, engineering scopes, cost estimates (FEL1-FEL3), schedules, and risk registers to inform capital funding decisions.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Oversee design development, procurement activities, vendor qualification, and contract execution in accordance with corporate standards and governance models.
  • Manage construction execution, field engineering, and contractor performance to ensure adherence to safety expectations, specifications, and project deliverables.
  • Direct commissioning and start-up planning, including operational readiness, training, SOP updates, validation, and handover packages.
  • Maintain full accountability for project KPIs-cost, schedule, scope, quality, and safety-through structured controls, progress reporting, and stage-gate compliance.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication between Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, SHEQ, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure seamless execution and integration of new assets.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams through all project phases: feasibility, Front-End Loading (FEL) development, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
  • Oversee risk management, quality assurance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, operations, contractors, and executive leadership.
  • Implement and maintain structured project management methodologies and stage-gate processes to ensure project governance and alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports, including progress tracking, risk assessments, and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project execution, leveraging lessons learned and best practices.
  • Ensure seamless transition of projects to operations, including documentation, training, and post-implementation reviews

Your role
Position Summary

The Project Manager, Capital Projects will lead capital projects within our chemical, industrial, and continuous-process manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of proven experience managing complex capital projects from feasibility through operational handover. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional stakeholder communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective projects within structured stage-gate frameworks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop project charters, feasibility studies, engineering scopes, cost estimates (FEL1-FEL3), schedules, and risk registers to inform capital funding decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and deliver projects across the full lifecycle within structured stage-gate frameworks.
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects that are safe, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Highly self-directed, organized, and capable of managing complex assignments with minimal oversight.
  • Experience with project management software and tools for planning, tracking, and reporting.
  • Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Project management and/or process improvement certifications are a plus (PMBOK,PMP, Lean Six Sigma, etc.).
