We are supporting a global life sciences company on a search for an experienced Capital Procurement Manager to support a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing capital program. This is a multi-year contract engagement and an excellent opportunity for a seasoned procurement professional with a capital projects background who thrives in a construction management environment and is skilled at driving procurement outcomes at the project level.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee capital equipment procurement in support of a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing capital program.
• Lead trade packages procurement in close collaboration with an on-site construction management firm.
• Negotiate and influence trade deals with the CM firm across a broad range of equipment and services categories.
• Manage procurement scope across electrical, mechanical, building automation, and infrastructure equipment.
• Partner with project stakeholders to ensure procurement execution remains aligned with program timelines and requirements.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors and suppliers to manage lead times, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
• Monitor procurement progress and provide regular updates to on-site project leadership.
• Support the resolution of procurement-related issues and commercial disputes as they arise throughout the program.
• Drive favorable commercial outcomes on behalf of the owner across all procurement categories.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in capital equipment procurement on large-scale programs — $500M+ project scale strongly preferred.
• Background in an EPC or CM environment, or owner-side capital procurement within pharma, life sciences, or heavy industrial preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence trade package deals within a CM delivery model.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess, structure, and challenge complex procurement agreements.
• Familiarity with GMP or regulated manufacturing environments a plus.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, on-site project environment with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across project teams, contractors, and senior leadership.
