Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Sourcing professional to support a large and fast-paced Capital Projects portfolio. Our team is responsible for CAPEX demands starting at $150K, with approximately $300M in current team spend and potential for significant growth. The role will independently manage sourcing and procurement activities across capital equipment and project services for individual demands up to approximately $2M. The position may also be assigned additional responsibility for major projects and larger, more complex sourcing packages based on portfolio needs. The scope includes critical equipment, OEM service agreements, construction, engineering, technical services and other project-related requirements. The successful candidate will take ownership, move quickly, work effectively with technical stakeholders and suppliers, and convert project requirements into executable sourcing strategies, contracts and Purchase Orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing and commercial activities for critical manufacturing and project equipment.
- Source and negotiate OEM service agreements covering installation, commissioning, maintenance, technical support, spare parts and other equipment lifecycle services.
- Develop commercial strategies considering equipment cost, lifecycle support, lead time, warranty, service requirements and supplier risk.
- Identify and actively manage long-lead and schedule-critical equipment.
- Lead sourcing activities for construction, engineering and technical services supporting Capital Projects.
- Manage competitive sourcing of engineering firms, contractors and specialty service providers.
- Support commercial evaluation and negotiation of labor rates, fee structures, reimbursables, markups, payment terms, schedules and other commercial conditions.
- Support project teams with sourcing strategies appropriate to scope, schedule, complexity and commercial risk.
- Independently manage CAPEX sourcing demands up to approximately $2M, within a team responsible for requirements starting at $150K.
- Lead the full process from requirement definition through RFQ/RFP, commercial evaluation, negotiation, award, and contract / PO execution.
- Develop sourcing strategies and competitive bidding approaches.
- Support or lead additional major project sourcing responsibilities as assigned, based on business priorities and portfolio demand.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, payment terms, lead times and contractual conditions.
- Support the development and negotiation of service agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), equipment agreements and other applicable commercial agreements.
- Ensure appropriate contractual coverage is established before work begins.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Finance, Legal and other technical stakeholders.
- Challenge incomplete requirements and drive the actions necessary to move sourcing packages forward.
- Manage multiple equipment and service packages simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Maintain visibility of sourcing status, upcoming awards, commercial risks and required decisions.
- Escalate issues early and bring recommendations and proposed solutions.
- Identify, qualify and engage OEMs, contractors, engineering firms and technical service providers.
- Lead supplier negotiations and commercial evaluations.
- Support supplier performance and commercial issue resolution during project execution.
- Support change orders, amendments and evolving scopes of work as projects progress.
- Maintain compliance with Procurement, contracting and project requirements.
