Cooley LLP, a leading international law firm, seeks an associate with 3–7 years in capital markets and public securities to join its corporate practice in Los Angeles.

You will represent issuers and underwriters in IPOs and other equity offerings, advise on governance and SEC reporting, and manage complex client relationships across technology, life sciences, and consumer sectors. A top law degree is expected.

Overview

Cooley LLP offers a position within its internationally recognized corporate practice. Associates with three to seven years of capital markets and public securities experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Represent companies and/or underwriters in public securities offerings, including IPOs and other equity or equity‑linked transactions, with a focus on the technology, consumer/retail and life sciences sectors.
• Represent public companies in a wide variety of matters including corporate governance and SEC and exchange reporting and compliance.
• Manage client relationships and handle the day‑to‑day demands and workflow requirements of a variety of clients with sophisticated needs.
• Have worked in the capital markets department of a national or international law firm.
• Have a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.

Compensation

The expected annual pay range for this position is $260,000-$420,000, dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skill set.
