The Capital Markets Associate position at Nautilus Solar Energy is responsible for executing project financings and strategic analysis to support the development of the company’s expanding solar portfolio. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong financial modeling background who can operate independently while collaborating across multiple departments. The position encompasses a broad range of financial analysis responsibilities, including building and maintaining complex financial models for project finance assessment, developing discounted cash flow analyses, and conducting valuation assessments of solar energy projects. The associate will evaluate investment opportunities from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives, performing valuation modeling and scenario analysis while reviewing portfolio risks and opportunities. A significant component of the role involves quarterly valuation of a portfolio exceeding 200 operating and development assets, with responsibility for understanding complex quarter-over-quarter impacts and presenting detailed findings to the Executive Team. The associate will develop process-oriented models and marketing materials supporting debt and tax equity origination efforts, evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of various financing structures and term sheets while supporting term negotiations. Strategic analysis responsibilities include producing scenario-driven memos and presentations for Board meetings, assessing strategic opportunities such as asset divestitures and financial restructurings of operating portfolios, and tracking changes to state and federal policies and laws to detail potential impacts to both operating and development asset economics. The associate will assist in structuring and negotiating project financing agreements, coordinate with lenders and investors to secure project funding, and support closing activities through dataroom preparation and diligence management. Additional responsibilities encompass reviewing and supporting detailed cost estimates and budgets for project development phases, monitoring project expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints, and facilitating ongoing construction, term, and tax equity funding activity across various development stages. The role requires close cross-functional collaboration with engineering, finance, and legal teams while providing regular updates to internal and external stakeholders on project status and developments.
