Job summary

Advantage Capital Management in New York is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its renewables finance team. About this Role

Advantage Capital is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate of Origination and Execution to join its renewables finance team. This is a dynamic and experienced professional role designed to expand the company’s efforts in identifying, structuring, and executing renewable energy projects. The position requires a strategic thinker with deep understanding of the renewable energy market and a proven track record in project finance and development. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of finance, energy policy, and project development, playing a crucial role in advancing Advantage Capital’s renewable energy investment strategy. This role involves both strategic planning and hands-on execution, requiring the ability to manage complex financial instruments, navigate regulatory frameworks, and build relationships across multiple stakeholder groups. The position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the transition to clean energy while building institutional relationships and developing expertise in an increasingly important sector.

Responsibilities

• Implement the originations and execution strategy for financing renewable energy and supply chain projects, aligning with company goals, institutional investor criteria, compliance-based state and federal programs, and market opportunities


• Support the structuring and negotiation of financial agreements, ensuring optimal financing solutions for projects while managing risk


• Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities in renewable energy sectors, including solar, wind, and emerging technologies


• Build and maintain strong relationships with project developers, investors, governmental agencies, colleagues, and other stakeholders to drive successful project execution and term growth


• Proactively engage with a high-performing team of professionals in the origination and execution of financing renewable energy and supply chain opportunities


• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape


• Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders, outlining project opportunities, risks, and recommendations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, environmental science, or a related field


• 3-6+ years of experience in renewables transactions (Solar/BESS/Wind)


• Ability to effectively support simultaneous workflow from separate deal from origination, to structuring, and close


• Experience with project finance and tax equity across multiple structures


• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills


• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple projects and priorities


• Passion for renewable energy and commitment to sustainability


• Intellectual curiosity and desire for continuous learning


• Preference for hybrid working model close to an existing office, including NYC, Saint Louis, New Orleans, or other locations to be considered
