United States Steel Corporation (USS) seeks a highly motivated procurement professional to join its Global Procurement team. This role focuses on capital equipment strategy and collaborates with engineering and operations to source and manage high-value assets.

You will lead end-to-end procurement for capital equipment, develop sourcing strategies, analyze costs and lead times, and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and strong negotiation skills.
• Experience in capital equipment procurement and capital projects.
• Proficiency with Oracle or SAP procurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement for capital equipment, from RFx to contract.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and PM to define specs and timelines.
• Provide cost estimates, lead time analysis, and supplier capability assessments.
• Develop sourcing strategies delivering cost savings, quality, and risk mitigation.
• Manage supplier relationships for performance and compliance.
• Monitor market trends and inform decisions to enable innovation.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies and regulatory requirements.
