Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sourcing Manager, CAPEX for the Starlink program. The role focuses on capital purchases and production consumables, interfacing with internal stakeholders to optimize cost, delivery, and total cost of ownership.

You will work closely with engineering, operations, and procurement to drive value and manage supplier relationships. Based in Bastrop, TX, on-site only, with potential travel up to 50% including international routes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, materials or production planning, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, or master production scheduling; or 9+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with capital expenditure purchasing is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, analytics, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies for capital purchases and production consumables.
• Understand production equipment to identify cost, space, and process optimization opportunities using data analytics.
• Negotiate to maximize value, reduce cost, and prioritize delivery while lowering risk.
• Build and own project budgets, funding requests, and capitalization plans based on project timelines (TCO focus).
• Conduct market research, benchmarking and supplier analysis for assigned categories.
• Communicate equipment status to management, flag risks, and adjust plans as needed.
• Track spend, assess budget risk, and provide clear budgetary analysis for decisions.
• Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk and drive cost savings aligned with terms and on-time delivery.
• Build relationships and drive cross-functional teams to reach consensus and onboard new suppliers.
