Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA seeks a purchasing professional to support capital and consumables purchases for the Starlink program. You will place purchase orders, forecast demand, track supplier performance and develop sourcing strategies to reduce cost and risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, or related fields.
• Alternative: 3+ years of experience in lieu of a degree in purchasing, supply chain, or contract management.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to assigned category.
• Forecast demand, evaluate capacity, and manage supply signals to adjust incoming material.
• Track supplier performance on cost, on-time delivery, quality, and other metrics.
• Utilize negotiations to maximize value and cost savings while lowering risk.
• Create sourcing strategies for assigned category to reduce risk and meet targets for cost savings and continuity of supply.
• Solve complex problems with speed and efficiency.
• Develop a preferred supplier network and leverage it to minimize cost and lead time.
• Perform onsite reviews of vendor capabilities.
• Author contract documents with the legal department and manage contract performance.
