Job summary

Assistance Technique Internationale (ATI) seeks a CapEx Engineer to lead and integrate mechanical engineering across projects in a manufacturing setting. You will serve as the mechanical SME, guiding design reviews, budgeting, and execution per the project plan.

You will work with an integrated project team to identify technical solutions, develop specs, manage scope and schedule, and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery aligned with ATI production processes.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading small- to medium-sized engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage small- to medium-sized engineering projects, including planning, coordination, execution, and completion.
• Identify technical solutions for opportunities and problems within the manufacturing environment.

Overview:

As a CapEx Engineer, you will lead the coordination and overall integration of the Mechanical Engineering of Projects within a manufacturing environment. This includes leading/participating in the design and implementation of solutions for technical challenges, serving as the Mechanical SME for the specified projects. All projects will have an extensive strategic impact on the future of ATI.

In this role, you will be working within the structure of an integrated Project Team to:

• Manage small- to medium-sized engineering projects, including project planning, coordination, execution, and completion.
• Identify the technical solutions for critical opportunities and problems within our manufacturing environment.
• Determine the Project Scope.
• Review and revise mechanical engineering designs developed by others to support the implementation of engineering solutions.
• Identify the required Project Budget and control Project spend to the Budget.
• Identify the Project Implementation Plan and implement Project per the Plan.
• Develop the required Project Specifications to support the design and procurement of the Project solution.
• Evaluate Technical Specifications provided by Outside Suppliers for conformance to Project requirements.
• Develop and maintain the Project Schedule based on the Project Implementation Plan, considering the availability of the impacted Operation. Lead Project Resources involved in the Mechanical aspects of the Project in achievement of the Plan.
• Coordinate the resources at the Project location to install and commission the Project solution, through the achievement of the Project Objectives.
• Participate with Internal and External Resources to develop technical expertise in application of the Mechanical Engineering principles with ATI’s production processes.

Requirement

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing small- to medium-sized engineering projects, including project planning, coordination, execution, and completion.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of engineering principles and methods. This includes engineering strategy and tactics, product demonstration, engineering techniques, and engineering control systems
• Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to determine the best solution and solve problems
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills required in dealing with both internal and external customers.
• Ability to establish long-range objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve them.
• Capable of "driving" the decision making process in strategic or tactical situations, including "troubleshooting" efforts
• Viewed as a technical "expert" in select processes and/or technical field for the corporation
• Capable of assuming responsibility for the technical growth of less-experienced departmental engineers
• Ability to assist in the definition of the strategic technical direction of the organization and the Corporation
• Working knowledge of fundamental project management skills with a proven record of project management success on large & major strategic project
