Job summary

The MSPCA-Angell in Centerville is seeking an experienced Adoption Center Manager to lead our Cape Adoption Center and oversee staff, volunteers, and daily shelter operations. You'll supervise a dedicated team, coordinate with veterinary and behavior specialists, drive adoption success, and ensure compassionate care for every animal while fostering a positive community presence.

This is a full-time role with weekend work; salary ranges from $65,000 to $75,000, with relocation assistance for

Qualifications

  • 2 years of management or supervisory experience (non-profit preferred)
  • 2 years of experience working in animal sheltering, veterinary services, or comparable social services fields
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Compassionate, people-centered leader who believes deeply in helping animals and their families
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to maintaining the positive, supportive culture of MSPCA
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus

  • Lead group discussions, trainings, scheduling, performance development, and team culture
  • Lead daily adoption center shelter operations, including intake, care, adoption, and euthanasia of animals
  • Foster a positive and supportive culture through collaboration with volunteers and foster care coordinators
  • Provide euthanasia counseling while upholding compassionate care
  • Model kindness and professionalism characteristic of MSPCA

The MSPCA-Angell is looking for an experienced manager at our Cape location in Centerville (40 hours/week, weekends required).

Salary: $65,000-$75,000, depending on experience. Relocation assistance available for out of state applicants.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • 2 years of management or supervisory experience (non-profit preferred)

Who We Are

The MSPCA is the largest animal welfare organization in New England- caring for and placing over 12,000 animals annually across our four adoption centers and caring for over 14,000 animals in our community clinics. For our adoption centers, we aim to help the greatest number of animals by upholding an open adoption philosophy and moving pets through the shelter effectively while maintaining a commitment to socially conscious sheltering. For our community clinics we work to provide access to low cost veterinary care that helps keep families together with their pets.

Experience
  • 2 year(s): Experience working in animal sheltering, veterinary services, or comparable social services fields
  • 2 year(s): Management or supervisory experience (non-profit preferred)
  • Must be able to drive the Shelter vehicle and possess valid MA driver’s license and a clean driving record.
