CRST’s Asset-Light Division is expanding—and we’re hiring a high-energy Capacity Sales Manager in Birmingham to help us scale by sourcing, onboarding, and managing third-party carriers across dry-van, flatbed, and power-only lanes. You'll be part of a nimble, agent-centric team that drives freight execution across North America.

Work Location: On Site - 200 Republic St, Birmingham, AL 35214

Job Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, flexible based on business needs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively source, qualify, and onboard carriers across multiple modes
  • Develop and maintain strong carrier relationships and secure recurring capacity
  • Match carrier availability to live and forecasted freight opportunities
  • Negotiate rates, build trust, and execute daily loads with precision
  • Monitor KPIs (carrier utilization, on-time %, margin) and resolve service issues fast

Ideal Experience and Skill Set:

  • 2–5 years of freight brokerage or 3PL sales experience (Flatbed or Van preferred)
  • Demonstrated book of business or carrier network, highly preferred
  • High-energy, goal-oriented, and thrives under pressure
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and CRM skills
  • A strong knowledge of freight lanes is highly desirable
  • Grit, hustle, and a builder’s mentality

Requirements:

  • A four-year degree or 2+ years of carrier sales or capacity procurement in a brokerage/3PL
  • Skilled at negotiation, sourcing, and load matching
  • Comfortable on the phone—high-volume outreach mindset
  • Deep knowledge of van and flatbed carrier networks throughout North America
  • Energetic, accountable, and tech-savvy (TMS/CRM proficiency a plus)
