Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Capacity Engineering to lead a growing team responsible for data platform, planning and efficiency, and overall capacity management across compute infrastructure. This hands-on leadership role requires staying close to systems while guiding people and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Hire, onboard, coach, and retain senior and staff engineers.
• Set clear expectations, give direct and timely feedback, run performance and leveling conversations, and build a team culture that values ownership, rigor, and collaboration.
• Champion internal customers by engaging with research engineering, inference, infrastructure, and finance, and translate learnings into the roadmap.
• Own the roadmap by translating company compute strategy into a prioritized engineering plan across data platform, planning, and efficiency.
• Review designs, weigh in on architecture, and enforce production standards—Python/SQL, latency, SLOs, and reliable on-call.
• Run the team as a product organization, gathering requirements, defining schemas, and ensuring data quality and discoverability.
