Job summary

C.H. Robinson Worldwide in Chicago seeks a Capacity Portfolio Representative to blend inside sales, account management, and operations. You will grow and manage a portfolio of carriers, ensuring the right truck is matched with shipments at the right time and price.

You’ll join a dynamic onboarding and training program, with in-person collaboration four days a week and one remote day. A strong focus on relationship building and customer service drives success.

Qualifications

• Experience building and expanding carrier relationships.
• Ability to generate new carrier leads and referrals.
• Strong negotiation and pricing decision skills.
• Track record in managing carrier accounts and driving service levels.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain carrier relationships through lead generation, cold calling, and referrals.
• Learn about carriers’ goals and capabilities to maximize relationships and satisfaction.
• Monitor activity, identify inactive/underutilized accounts, and reactivate them.
• Leverage automated booking tools and carrier platforms to improve efficiency.
• Support Capacity Procurement and negotiate capacity as needed.
• Analyze freight market trends to inform pricing decisions.
• Use capacity analysis and internal tools to guide buying strategies.
• Post, negotiate, and secure available capacity to meet customer needs.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and promptly address carrier issues.
• Incorporate carrier feedback to improve service.
