Job summary

Think Small® seeks a Capacity Building Coach to support the growth of high-quality child care programs in Minnesota. You will work with state, county, and community partners to promote business success, licensing compliance, and quality standards aligned with the state system.

You will provide technical assistance, recruit providers in underserved communities, and represent Think Small at community events. Collaboration with agencies and internal teams will expand capacity and ensure culturally

Qualifications

• Fluency in Somali and English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Experience with database management and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
• Knowledge of Minnesota Rule 2 and Rule 3 child care licensing standards
• Travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area, occasional evenings and Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to prospective and existing providers to achieve licensing status.
• Recruit providers in underserved communities interested in starting or expanding a licensed childcare business.
• Represent Think Small at community events, meetings, and outreach activities.
• Collaborate with state and community agencies to expand childcare capacity.
• Develop and maintain positive community partnerships and relationships with external stakeholders.
• Document coaching activities in approved databases and reporting systems.
• Ensure departmental standards are met and perform related duties as assigned.
