Job summary

Canyon Services Representative will perform guest services for Indian Canyons, Tahquitz Canyon and the Visitor Center.

Greet visitors, answer phones, and provide information about ACBCI businesses. Manage admissions, sell merchandise, and assist with reservations and brochures. Must have HS diploma, 1 year in retail or customer service, and strong people skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma, or GED.
• One year experience in retail, customer service, or related field.
• Must possess exceptional people skills, excellent customer skills, telephone skills, and the ability to deal with multiple guest personalities.

Responsibilities

• Greet incoming visitors at front reception and answer phone calls, providing information about Indian Canyons and ACBCI businesses.
• Monitor the canyon vehicle entrance, collect admissions, sell merchandise, and respond to guest inquiries.
• Offer information and coupons for Agua Caliente entities; sell discount tickets to Indian Canyons; assist in reservations.
• Make reservations for Tahquitz Canyon interpretive hikes and guide guests accordingly.
• Keep Visitor Center stocked with brochures and coupons; assist in daily clean-up and snack bar service where applicable.
• Perform other administrative duties as required.

Job Description Summary

Canyon Services Representative will perform guest services for Indian Canyons, Tahquitz Canyon and the Visitor Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other Duties May Be Assigned)

• Handles front reception; greets incoming visitors, answers all incoming phone calls, and provides information regarding Indian, Tahquitz Canyons and ACBCI related businesses.
• Monitor the vehicle entrance into canyons and perform other customer service functions such as the collection of admissions, selling of merchandise, and responding to guest inquiries.
• Offers information and/or coupons on the various business entities of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Sells discount tickets to the Indian Canyons.
• Makes reservations for the Tahquitz Canyon interpretive hikes.
• Keeps Visitor Center stocked with brochures and coupons.
• Assist in daily clean-up of the Visitor Center.
• Provides snack bar/food service. (Trading Post location only.)
• Performs other administrative duties as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Ability to use 10 key calculator, cash register and minimal computer skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to sit, stand for up to 8 hour shift, walk, reach, talk, and hear. The individual must be physically fit to be able to lift 30 lb. and work in temperatures of 90 degrees F. or higher.

Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment, but may occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the working environment is usually moderate to quiet.
